One of the most common questions I get is “where do you get ideas for print-on-demand shirts, mugs and prints?” There are lots of online tools that will show you trending products and merch that sells. However, I also like using REAL LIFE to see what is selling, and I use my imagination to figure out new niche ideas that I can use when I am designing print on demand merchandise for sites like Redbubble, Teepublic, Merch by Amazon, etc.
I wandered through the aisles of my local IKEA and took some pictures, and here I do a walkthrough of my thought process on figuring out niche ideas, trending ideas and coming up with ideas for print on demand products that will sell.
